I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. Aren’t people who go to therapy weak?
Not. at. all! Everyone needs help from time to time. You already have some strengths that you’ve used to get through difficult times before, and for whatever reason, those just aren’t working the same for you right now. Perhaps this problem feels overwhelming and is making it difficult to access your past strengths. In our work together, I’ll help you identify what those strengths are and how to access them again to better apply them to what is happening now.

The point of this brief phone consultation is to briefly understand your goals for treatment. At this time we will coordinate availability and schedule and intake session and/or I will provide you with referrals to other providers or services that may be helpful for your situation.
Are you in office or virtual?
I am offering safe and sanitary office appointments following CDC guidelines in my Temecula office AND virtual appointments on my HIPAA secure video platform for individuals located throughout the state of California.
How long is a session and how long does treatment take?
A standard session with me is 50 minutes; although, I do work with some individuals who may need shorter or longer sessions based upon individual preference or need.
Duration of treatment is highly individualized. Every situation, every individual and every treatment is different. That said, it is always my objective to work with you in expanding your internal and external resources and supports to help you navigate your life outside of the therapeutic space in a more adaptive manner.
How do I find the right therapist for me?
The most important element in good therapy is the therapeutic relationship. It is critically important that you feel comfortable and connected with your therapist in order to bring your most authentic self to the space. You are the expert in how you feel when you sit with me face to face and I invite you to be honest with yourself in determining how comfortable you feel when opening up to me.
Our initial phone consultation can be a helpful opportunity for us to briefly get to know one another and determine if my training, expertise, specialties are in line with what you are looking for. During this time you can also get a glimpse at what conversing with me may be like, but it is not a substitute for in person contact.
How often do I need therapy?
Therapy works best when it’s done consistently. That said, I often recommend weekly sessions especially as we’re first building our therapeutic relationship and trust. I do not recommend planning to come less frequently than once per week to maximize progress towards your therapeutic goals.
